Syllabus

Learning Outcome
This course is designed to help early childcare professionals understand the importance of professionalism in working with children and families. It will also discuss ethical decision-making. Learning objectives include:

  1. Identify positive behaviors to support the program’s success and foster positive relationships with colleagues, children, and families.
  2. Develop strategies for decision-making and addressing inappropriate behavior that may arise in the early childcare profession.
  3. Understand how to promote a positive environment and demonstrate a commitment to high-quality care by preventing inappropriate behavior.

It is recommended that participants take notes as they go through the course content. Materials needed include:

  • Writing Paper
  • A pen or pencil
Prerequisite
There is no prerequisite for this training course.
Requirements
  • While tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices may allow for some completion of coursework, they are not guaranteed to work in all areas. Please ensure you have access to a desktop or laptop to complete coursework.
  • Must have internet connection. High speed broadband access (LAN, Cable or DSL) is highly recommended for the optimal learning experience.
  • A graphical browser is required, such as, Chrome, Firefox, etc.
  • Participants must have an E-mail account that is accessible because after a participant enrolls in this course, all e-mails regarding this course will be sent to the e-mail on record.
Certificate
This is a certificate program. Upon completion participants will earn a certificate of completion and continuing education units (CEU).
Criteria to Earn Credit
To receive credit for completing this course, participants should read all material, take notes, and complete all the required assignments. There is a final assessment at the end of this course. Participants will have two attempts to take the final assessment and must pass with a 70% or higher to earn credit. Please note there will be no extra attempts to retake the final assessment. Once you have started the final assessment, complete it without interruption. If you cannot pass the final assessment with a 70% or higher, we encourage you to consider taking another course that meets your requirements.
